IGNATIA WEBS | WEDNESDAY, APRIL 21, 2010 Blogphilosophy: share your learning story: formal education shackled me, so I got out … My hypothesis is: some people feel that formal education shackles them, and a lot of the time this happens to learners from less fortunate classes, as they do not see or learn the benefits from higher education, nor its unspoken rules and social interactions. Formal education does not lead up to much for a big portion of its content. After leaving school (university, high school…) the learners often lack the skills to truly be prepared for the working world. There are many hypotheses on why that is actually the case. So what do learners do that feel shackled by formal education? got out. -

IGNATIA WEBS | WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 21, 2012 Blogphilosophy: Education makes the world a worse place Social science has many frameworks, theories, even pilot studies to prove its potential realization. These last few days were pushing the truth into my face again: education does not change the world. In fact: it helps destroying it. So why bother? Why do I put so much time and effort in researching education? It is not about Israël, it could just as easily be North Korea, China, Zimbabwe, waffles baking Belgium, … or the tiny country of Andorra for all I care. The nations never die, its citizens die, the children die. Annihilating the powerless is the best way to keep people down. -
