Mobile Monday at Zurich was interesting from a mobile learning perspective. Augmented Reality has been on the map for quite a while now, but at the ETH (Zurichs renowned University) we were allowed to have an upclose look at what some companies are doing.

Social Media makes this course stand out
The way she build her course is a great example of combining several relevant Social media to enhance a course. Thanks to the great College20 community started by Eduardo Peirano, I could read a post by Alejandra Pickett that really blew my mind. If you are a member of the College20 community, feel free to immediately surf to her post . (btw

How do you get teachers involved in social media?
So somehow, somewhere you must be as cunning as the pied piper and luer them into the joy of social media and participative learning. So I knew most of the teachers were behind the idea of social media, but were scared of the technical part. This question haunts me, especially because most of the people are not jumping up and down for change. I am very lucky because ITM has teachers who relish in interactive courses, but as soon as the term ‘IT' or ‘wiki' is dropped, their entusiasm melts like snow underneath the sun.

OEB08 informal learning and social media workshop by Jay Cross and guides
The audience was very diverse but all with an eLearning perspective and their social media background as well. guide is someone who is into informal learning and/or using social media and willing to share information on it. Social media allows you to let go of rules and explore new possibilities . Jay is a wise man using humor to spice up any workshop and at this occasion he was wearing a yellow tie and suspenders. The workshop is taken a complete day, but unfortunately I had a deadline to meet in the afternoon, so what follows is only on the first part of the day (before

Cell Phone Remote Control with Voicethread
1) Mathcasts and Social Studies reports , Wes Fryer highlights some excellent examples of Mathcasting and Social Studies reports with Voicethread. I am a big fan of Voicethread for use in education. Not just because Voicethread gives educators free accounts, but because now they have added a "telephone" option for commenting and controlling the Voicethread presentation.

Facebook in case of divorce
Just a suggestion for sociological research in social networking software's. Facebook and other social networking sites make this virtually impossible. By now - if you are a bit of a nervous type - you might be wondering if there is something like a constraining order for social networks? In a divorce you want to do two things: split up everything of value and leave the past behind while moving on without too much of a hassle. You know how it goes.

BlogPhilosophy: what if all the learning in the world, does not save it from itself?
that is what the internet is becoming Social media would make a difference! Social media picked up immensely this year, so the content put out there was immense as well. The internet and social media were to be used critically. So will social media make a societal difference? This will be more of a grim post. The biggest aha-moment on eLearning I got this year came when I talked to Nicola Avery last week.
