IGNATIA WEBS | THURSDAY, JANUARY 28, 2010 Beware critics of Connectivism ! Or how I feel connectivism opens up content creation and access What was surprising was that many of the people who critiqued it, actually were experienced researchers, yet they did not actually follow the course itself. Meaning that although they might have great ideas, the chance that I would encounter them as authors of research papers might be much less possible. Tags: connectivism collaborative working research CCK In 2008 I enrolled in the CCK connectivism course. It was the first time I took such a mass course and … I liked it, though I could not really say why I liked it. Why do I like the connectivism and especially CCK-course? MORE >> -

IGNATIA WEBS | THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 15, 2011 On #Higher #Education and Society in Changing Times and searching for the reason why educational research centres are under siege Certain countries opt to increase education and research (e.g. Germany) and cut budgets in other areas, other countries are slicing down education/ research (e.g. Personally, I cannot imagine how any politician that understands the growing knowledge era can vote in favor of research/educational cuts. How strange is it to read on the one hand that education is changing rapidly and is in need for a new balance, while on the other hand educational research centres are - just in these times - shut down? educational institution education research higher education MORE >> -
CELL PHONES IN LEARNING | MONDAY, MAY 12, 2008 Student Research with ChaCha Chacha is a free resource which allows anyone to do research via mobile phone. 1) Research checking Often with Wikipedia, students are asked to check the accuracy of the information they find at the wiki site. Students could call in to ChaCha and ask a research question about something they are studying (such as a definition of a scientific phenomenon), get the ChaCha answer, then check reliable authoritative resources to see how accurate the definition was. Since they receive text message answers they have a record of the research and reference list. Hang up. MORE >>
