Although the document focuses on mobile learning for children, you can easily deduct the benefits for all learner groups. | IGNATIA WEBS JANUARY 17, 2010 2010 Horizon Report on emerging technologies' impact on education is out The annual Horizon Report describes the continuing work of the New Media Consortium (NMC)’s Horizon Project in collaboration with Educause, a research-oriented effort that seeks to identify and describe emerging technologies likely to have considerable impact on teaching, learning, and creative expression within higher education. You can download the report here. | IGNATIA WEBS DECEMBER 27, 2010 #Situated learning via #mobile #augmented learning for our #educational future But with the ever growing (and simplifying) augmented mobile learning, it becomes a very feasible way of getting learners up to speed with the latest knowledge. The users can either download the J2ME application or just use the mobile net to enter Moodle on their mobiles. The MLE can also be configured and edited with a WYSIWYG editor to create content specifically for mobile users. The project resulted out of the abandoned MOMO project, which was a mobile Moodle project funded by the Austrian government. In MORE >> -
MLEARNING BLOG | MONDAY, JANUARY 19, 2009 Futurelab’s location-based learning projects Another related project is Mobi Missions, in which students can create their own mobile missions in their city. Both of these projects can demonstrate that location-based learning might become a huge hit within the mobile learning community in the near future. This type of mobile game looks very promising. MLEARNING BLOG | FRIDAY, MAY 21, 2010 The mobile future Last week I went to another seminar, or rather a presentation about the future of the mobile web in 2010. Altough mobile learning per se was not mentioned, one or two of those products certainly will have an impact on the mobile learning scene of this year. According to Schärer and Wieser, some of the mega trends of 2010 are the more increased use of social networks on mobile phones, location-based services and augmented reality. So what does all of this mean for mobile learning? Some of these, obviously aren’t even on the market. In Europe that is. MORE >> -
