Personalising Learning with the iPod Touch
The gen 1 iPod touch devices are now one year old. We have had two new students arrive in our class in the last month or so, both requiring an iPod touch to ensure the ubiquitous access that is essential to this project. This iPod will remain in Shepparton and be restored and deployed to our newest student.

Current thoughts on ubiquitous computing and learning
You won’t find it (yet) being supported officially through Education Departments – but it is one that grassroots educators are embracing exponentially just as their students have – I’m talking about the iPod touch, iPhone, and soon (for us non-US citizens) the iPad.

Mobile Learning: constructing a themed approach | Personalising Learning with the iPod Touch
RSS Feed – I will create an RSS feed reader for the New York Times dinosaur news so my students can keep in touch with the latest discoveries and stories of interest to report back to the class and discuss with their families at home. The video content embedded here is from YouTube and will play on the iPod touch YouTube App.

Get some perspective… (a primer piece re: lofty ideals vs on the ground realities in regards to educational technology deployments)
m fortunate that my job does have scope for analysing research around ICT integration and pondering these kinds of matters so I can best support schools who are moving towards mobile and transformational learning programs (specifically the XO laptop, but also other platforms such as iPad’s and iPod’s). That’s a lot of us. See, easy!

Everyone concurs these iPad devices should slot into the mobile learning device market quite nicely and, as one of the mobile device market analysts stated earlier this week, should only cannibalize market share from Apple's existing iPod touch media player while replacing those sales with higher price/higher margin iPad sales!
