A year ago, Google released App Inventor – a fascinatingly visual, albeit rather buggy tool for developing android apps. Today I found an email in my inbox announcing that Google are dropping support for it. Google are open-sourcing the code base. open source pedagogy mobile in schools app development learners as creators constructivism innovation google applications android | MLEARNING TRENDS JANUARY 4, 2010 mLearning Presentations using Google Docs A RT from Tim Martin at the Elearning Guild brought my attention to a blog posting by Wesley Fryer at Stormchasers about his use of Google Presentation -- part of the free cloud-based Google Docs service -- as a means of distributing mobile learning content to his ecosystem. Having used Google Docs for various business purposes in the past, I thought I'd give this use case another look and confirm for myself what others seemed so interesting in retweeting to the rest of the #mlearning followers. Playback of the content and rending of the images works perfectly fine. | | | | | | | IGNATIA WEBS JULY 27, 2010 Wonder wheel from google for learning When writing for the Master course I am following (master in distance education), I started to use Google's wonder wheel, and what a wonderful search option this is. Tags: semantic google search engine Back from an invigorating and wonderful vacation (while writing papers), aaaaahhhh super. To start of my blogposts, I thought I would keep it simple. Why do I like it? | CELL PHONES IN LEARNING FEBRUARY 3, 2013 Using Google Voice for Classroom Management This math teacher (Sara) at Nokomis High School does an excellent job describing how Google Voice can be coupled with a teacher's cell phone for management and home-to-school communication. She also gives some examples of how it can personalize learning for her students. googlevoice | CELL PHONES IN LEARNING APRIL 6, 2009 Create Oral Quizzes & Speech to Text Transcripts with Google Voice The voice mail web resource Grandcentral is now Google Voice , and there have been some big improvements. Google Voice is still in private beta (you can request an account), but fortunately I have been able to use my old Grandcentral account in Google Voice. After a couple weeks of using it, what I find useful about Google Voice over other uber voice mail systems is that you get a unique local phone number (thus not having to give out your personal cell phones or landline number). nice record of all group converstaion can be captured in Google Voice. | IGNATIA WEBS JULY 30, 2010 Metaweb, the web of entities bringing us closer to Web3.0 is gaining voices, the actor Metaweb , one of the pioneers in the field of organizing the Web in a more semantic sort of way has just joined Google. If Metaweb keeps growing, Google might be nearing the semantic web, very curious on how it will work out. At the moment it is very USA oriented, but it might catch on globally as Google has encapsulated them. semantic google | | | | | | | | | -
MOBILE LEARNING | MONDAY, DECEMBER 7, 2009 Google Goggles will rock m-learning. Today, Google announced a new beta application they’ve coined “ Google Goggles “ And guess what? The official Google site for the project (which is still in development) provides a number of ways Goggles can be used to accomplish a “visual search , including landmarks, books, contact information, artwork, places, logos, and even wine labels (which I anticipate could go much further, to cover product packaging more broadly). I think Google Goggles is going to rock m-learning… (via Mobility Site ). No worries! Just watch this space. MORE >> -
