App Inventor can be used for developing mLearning, quiz apps, mini learning games etc. It also has social media blocks for connecting to services like Twitter. Dr Math – A mobile tutoring platform for Africa?
Interesting points: The service runs from 14:00 – 22:00 on Sunday - Thursday (nobody does maths homework on a Friday or Saturday!). Over 5,500 learners have used the service. A presentation about Dr Maths on MXit , the very successful South African mobile instant message maths tutoring platform that is part of the Mobi LED initiative.

The platform created to enable the respective game models is now available as Open Source under the European Public License (EUPL). Of Mobile Devices, Apps, Games and Casual Mobile Learning - Classroom 2.0
partnered with a couple of grad students to design and program an app to teach boolean logic while playing a fun robot shooter game the only difference being that that our "guns" were logic gates, and the bit that the player had to shoot based on 2 random 1/0 input bits was the bit that matched the "rogue bot" moving towards the gate "gun".

Austrian University studies Augmented Reality on mobile devices
Interactive gaming with this kind of augmented reality was also shown in a short movie where a PDA camera was used as an interface together with a real life map. On the camera display the games virtual characters were shown as they moved and behaved in certain ways with the real map as the playing board. See image).
