One of the most popular ways to reveiw material in classrooms today is to use a jeoprady type game. On the mLearning-world.com blog , they suggest using cell phones as game "buzzers" and using Microsoft applications to help collect and store data. It might be a fun way to play an old review game.

Microsoft is now licensing Flash Lite for Windows Mobile. Think simulations, games and other traditional Flash e-Learning on your mobile device. This is a good thing if you’re hoping to develop or port e-Learning content to Windows Mobile Devices. Burst was built with Flash Lite 2.1, which was the predecessor to FL 3.

Mobile Augmented Reality – A Brief Overview
We may first see widespread use of modern augmented reality technology in the gaming world. Microsoft’s Project Natal for the XBox Platform is attempting to remove the controller from game play by capturing the motion of the person playing the game through an innovative camera setup. If you have not heard of it yet, I think you will like this application: photosynth of Microsoft. Photosynth is a software developed by Microsoft in collaboration with the University of Washington. During the latest mobile learning conferences, I was frequently surprised by the surplus of mobile learning possibilities.

My mLearning Predictions for 2010
We can all expect advances in next generation devices and capabilities from Apple, Google/Android, RIM/BlackBerry, Microsoft, Palm, Nokia and others. Security will become a MUCH bigger issue for mlearning deployments and all vendors will need to step up their game to ensure content/IP protection and integrity while making access easier.

Try, try, try again. success!
Little devices given to each student to capture their understanding of class concepts via games or one minute surveys. What I have created so far only runs on mobile devices with Microsoft Mobile 5.0 B luetooth and I have had a troubled start. Perseverance prevails. The counters can be reset for other questions to be asked.

2 Events that Could Help Push Mobile Learning
Microsoft announced that later this year it will release Windows Mobile 7 and RIM (maker of Blackberry smart phones) announced that it will release an updated WebKit based browser.
