Flash Lite on More Mobile Devices Means More Mobile Devices with Rich E-Learning Content
Microsoft is now licensing Flash Lite for Windows Mobile . Flash Lite is a subset of the desktop Flash environment and the version that will be on Windows Mobile will allow developers to utilize components like Flash Video and a significant portion of the ActionScript 3 programming language. What this means is that you can develop full scale mobile applications with the Flash Authoring Tool and deploy them to devices running Windows Mobile. This is a good thing if you’re hoping to develop or port e-Learning content to Windows Mobile Devices. Think simulations,

How to Create a Flash Lite RSS Reader- Part 1
With Flash Lite, you can create a customized RSS reader that will work with many mobile devices. Important Note: As you may know, Flash Lite does not parse XML directly. The first thing we’ll need to do is parse the XML feed and change it as to be loaded by Flash Lite. Notice that One of the easiest ways to push content to your mobile users is through an RSS feed. With an RSS reader, a mobile device can be set up to read feeds.

The Mobile Learner
While I am definitely not pleadging my support for any one brand, I am highlighting Turning Technologies as an example of what is already possible and that it is not necessary, despite what other vendors (who will remain nameless) tell us, to purchase propriety hardware in order to take advantage of clicker technology in the classroom. 4 Comments » iPods in Education Part 11: Digital Flash Cards January 8, 2009 — Rob De Lorenzo This blog post is in response to all the digital flash card websites that I’ve been coming across lately that are offering teachers

Create a free SMS auto-reply learning tool
I’ve previously blogged about StudyTXT , a system deployed at a number of New Zealand educational institutions (to whom it is available for free), which allows students to send an SMS and receive on-demand learning and support information on their mobile phones.
Some educators have used StudyTXT to provide brief revision “flash cards” or notes for their students on-demand; but I can also see the possibility for this kind of system to be used to play educational games or mobile quizzes.
It’s a terrific innovation which has plenty of potential in academic settings.

How do develop web content on the iPhone
The choice of the phones that are used in this project was primarely given by the types of mobile devices that were supported in Peru and the preference of people involved. The biggest disadvantage of the iPhone is the non-flash and non-java options, definitely limiting a wide aray of mobile interactivity, but ... The next couple of months I will be working with colleagues from Peru (Luis Fucai, Ellar Llacsahuanga and Carlos Kiyan) on a mobile learning project (funded by the Reach initiative , Tibotec grant) that involves iphone's and NokiaN95's for physicians in Peru. mLearning Content Types - Level 6: Rich Media
Content in either of these formats has the ability to engage, convey and capture a mobile user, and therefore the higher the production value the greater the impact the content will have. Level 6 Content Types The CellCast Solution supports media-based content in podcast audio and video formats. Summary – Level 6 Rich media content (videos, podcasts, Flash clips on supported devices) are the most engaging and entertaining form of mobile-friendly content, but each introduces higher levels of content authoring and delivery complexity for any Training team. Level 6: Rich Media NOTE: This is part 7 of 7 and the conclusion of this continuing series; please see earlier posts for more background information. Level 6 is the final stage of the mlearning content model comprising rich-media formats such as podcasts or video, targeted firmly at the smartphone/netbook audience.

My mLearning Predictions for 2010
After many years of sitting on the sidelines and reading the postings of others, I've decided to enter 2010 with this new mLearning Trends blog where I can post my own scattered thoughts and musing about all things "mobile learning" and begin sharing my own experiences in the design, development, deployment and support of mlearning solutions for the enterprise. Rather than getting easier, the mlearning landscape will actually grow wider/deeper and far more complex as enterprises are forced to include/support several disparate mobile devices and changing end user demands; this scenario
