My mLearning Predictions for 2010
After many years of sitting on the sidelines and reading the postings of others, I've decided to enter 2010 with this new mLearning Trends blog where I can post my own scattered thoughts and musing about all things "mobile learning" and begin sharing my own experiences in the design, development, deployment and support of mlearning solutions for the enterprise. While I'm quite familiar with where mobile has come in the educational space, and our experiences have some nice overlap, the reality is our "world view" is very focused on how businesses seek to leverage mobile technologies

Are Apps the Future of Mobile Learning?
As I continually survey the mobile technology landscape, I try to predict what learning will look like in 1, 2 or 5 years. In a much more casual way, I also try to observe how people use their mobile devices and what applications they have on those devices.

Addressing Some More Critiques of Mobile Learning
A few weeks ago, I wrote a blog post titled “ Addressing Some Critiques of Mobile Learning “. In that blog post, I attempted to debunk three of the most common critiques educators and education stakeholder have on the concept of mobile learning: students use mobile devices (such as cell phones) to bully other students, students use mobile devices to cheat, students use the Internet far too much and don’t know how to filter high quality information from biases, unsubstantiated opinions and falsehoods. While the above are likely the most common critiques of mobile learning, there are many more critiques and other issues that need to be addressed.

Cell Phones in Education Part 2: Assistive Technology
Connecting back to a previous blog post where I was musing on the difference between Differentiated Instruction and Universal Design for Learning , we can see that today’s cell phones are adding more functionality and are designed with the spirit of Universal Design in mind. Piggybacking on traditional “assistive technology” software that allowed those with physical disabilities or those with learning disabilities dictate thoughts onto a computer screen when using pencil and paper was impossible or impractical, voice notes features allow anyone to use their voice to
