As someone involved in E-Learning, I could not agree more.

Short paper on Mobile Learning in Japan
Found an interesting paper on Twitter today, called “Characteristics of Mobile Phone E-Learning in Japan. Nevertheless, the results are interesting, because the main point is that not the actual technology is the problem when creating good mobile learning, but rather the actual design. After doing a few hours of research on what mobile learning apps await us for this smart phone juggernaut, I have to admit that there seems to be almost no information on coming apps. If one is to believe the hype, this device has the potential to become a much better mobile learning environment than the iPhone.

Another related project is Mobi Missions, in which students can create their own mobile missions in their city.
