Personalising Learning with the iPod Touch
The gen 1 iPod touch devices are now one year old. We have had two new students arrive in our class in the last month or so, both requiring an iPod touch to ensure the ubiquitous access that is essential to this project. This iPod will remain in Shepparton and be restored and deployed to our newest student.

My Top Ten Mobile Learning Tools 2009 | Mashed Articles
don’t understand how Apple can expect the iPhone or iPod Touch to be taken seriously as an educational device without proper text input. Safari – it’s a proper mobile browsing experience. Earlier this year I ditched my Nokia N73 for an iPhone. Probably because I was a power user of my Nokia N73. Sorted.

My favorite handheld today is the iPod touch. It’s amazing to compare the number of iPod touch and iPhone apps to the number of apps for the Palm Operating System. After little over a year since the launch of the App Store for iPhone and iPod touch, we have 85,000 apps, with and average of 46 new ones being added each day.

ACU's iPhone initiative: a year later
recently got a chance to follow up with George Saltsman (Faculty Development), Scott Perkins (Director of Research) and William (Bill) Rankin (Director of Educational Innovation), meeting up for a multiparty video chat which revealed the excitement these guys have for what they are seeing become the platform for education: the iPhone.

The internet cafe had a wireless connection and we were able to go on a virtual tour of a proposed confernce venue through the safari browser and then book our venue through skype. was totally sceptical. The screen was to small I said, no-one would want to learn on a phone. was wrong.
