A brief update on Augmented Reality
Mobile Monday at Zurich was interesting from a mobile learning perspective. This might be a great mobile learning tool for young kids and teenagers.
There are several possiblities for mobile learning use though.
Summary: All in all it was very interesting and there Augmented Reality has been on the map for quite a while now, but at the ETH (Zurichs renowned University) we were allowed to have an upclose look at what some companies are doing.

New online book on mobile learning -available for free download by Jan Herrington, Anthony Herrington, Jessica Mantei, Ian Olney and Brian Ferry (editors), New technologies, new pedagogies: Mobile learning in higher education, Faculty of Education, University of Wollongong, 2009, 138p. This online book describes a study, funded by Australian Learning and Teaching Council (ALTC), that involved teachers in the Faculty of Education at the University of Wollongong implementing innovative teaching approaches to support mobile learning.

iPods in Education Part 12: Customized Learning Using Apps
There has been a gap of several months since I last shared ideas in the form of a blog post on the topic of using iPods in Education. While the introduction of the iPhone and the iPod Touch has changed the rules in how handheld devices can be used in education, this series has laid dormant as I’ve been in the process of catching up with the technology. As I did not own neither an iPod Touch nor an iPhone, I didn’t feel confident I have always been a firm believer that one cannot comment on the techology until one actually uses the technology.
