JUNE 12, 2012 Drawing up an #mLearning #strategy in 10 steps
Everyone is joining mLearning, but in many cases some of the basic steps are missing. Looking at my own mLearning roll out, I now see much more elements that will support a good and strong adaption and roll out of any mobile project. Here are 10 steps that make up my own mLearning strategy if I want to work on a new project, if you have additions, please add them via comment or social media: The 5 core steps are similar to any TELearning environment 1. What is the goal of the mLearning project? Is it to develop a course? Is it to get knowledge disseminated? Do all of them have a mobile device?

Read here how This American Life makes excellent use of text donations ). But until today, regulations prevented political campaigns from taking advantage of the same grassroots technology. This is a big day for American politics – as we can see from the fact that both the Romney and Obama campaigns supported the bill! When Can I Get Started?

In setting up MobiMOOC, I recently realized Google is fading out Google groups. Or at least it certainly feels that way. So I want to find a new tool that is optimized for discussing content and ideas in a user-friendly, social media enabled and transparent way. MobiMOOC will focus on mLearning, as such I need to find a discussion forum software that is accessible to smartphones (at least) and has an e-mail upload function (this also allows learners to add content to the discussion forum with their wap enabled or simple internet connected cell-phones). What will be in iOS6 for educators? Every year at this time, Apple has used the opening of its World Wide Developers Conference to preview what the next version of the iPhone and iPad operating system will bring. Amongst the purported 200 new features we will see when iOS version 6 is released in our Spring (Fall in the USA), I wanted to detail three of those announced overnight that in my opinion will be most useful for educators and schools. While there is nothing quite on the level of AirPlay mirroring which we got last year, these are worth knowing about and planning for. Siri for iPad 3. MORE >>

Once or twice a week I commute to the office using public transport. Sitting on the bus for 20 minutes with not much to really do affords an opportunity to indulge in people watching. As a learning designer, it pays to watch what people are doing around me. Interestingly, over time the nature of my commute has remained the same, but what people do on it has changed drastically. have seen two major shifts, the first was when individuals carried the first basic portable media players and listened to music. The games being played are nothing like the games played on PCs and consoles. MORE >>
