There is a wonderful and very well written article on NPR's Mind/Shift concerning students' needs around using technology in their learning (and they are NOT talking about a PowerPoint lecture!). Students from 5 low-income California area schools came together to fight for the right to use technology in schools, in order to have a chance at being competitive with students who come from more privileged backgrounds. We know that the majority of jobs in our future come from STEM , in particular the "Technology" piece of stem. Below is a quote from the article about the student's demands.
