The Next Frontier: Digital Books
The proliferation of music devices such as the iPod and the fact that, as of this writing, iTunes is the #1 selling retailer of music is testament of that. This affects education greatly. Educations systems around the globe are based on books and one of the most important hubs in any school is the library. June 1999 can be marked as a turning point in the distribution of media. That was when a university student named Shawn Fanning released a project he was working on that would change the face of the music industry.

3 for 3.0
This may seem irrelevant at first, but we think that allowing people to buy additional content from within an app is going to unlock text production for the iPhone and iPod touch in a big way. While people may quibble with the iPhone as an eBook reader, many people are already consuming their eBooks on the device, and making it easy to add new content is going to drive that even further.
Here at iThinkEd HQ (deep in the bowels of an undisclosed academic library, hidden in the unanimity of the bound periodicals section), we’re pretty excited about the new iPhone OS Apple premiered the other day.

Is Mobile Learning a Good Idea? « TrainersBlog
TrainersBlog Is Mobile Learning a Good Idea? June 15, 2009 at 5:00 am ( Learning Technologies ) ( eLearning , mobile , technology ) Apple is partnering up with the Georgia school system to provide iPods for podcasts to be used in home schooling. At the risk of sounding short-sighted or non-visionaryish, I don’t see how mobile learning is going to answer any great needs in training and education. Now I like to keep this about adult learning since the K-12 category is well represented online and, well, my area is adult learning not K-12.
