FEBRUARY 23, 2011 My Reflections on the Mobile World Congress
There was a lot of excitement with new announcements such as LG’s 3D phone, Sony’s Experia Play, HTC ChaCha and Salsa devices with integrated Facebook, new Samsung devices and lots of tablets from companies such as HTC with their Flyer, Samsung which includes a pen, Motorola’s Xoom and RIM’s PlayBook, all trying to distinguish themselves from the absent iPad. The buzz was about Android, security, services, reliability, mHealth, the Microsoft/Nokia partnership, femtocells, NFC, cloud services, mobile money and global opportunities for mobile. mHealth was evident though.)

Every student in our school district from 3rd grade to 6th grade has their own mobile learning device! Our goal is to have a mobile learning device in every student’s hand from 3rd grade to 12th grade! Next year, we will have over 900 mobile learning devices in our school district! Youth will not know of Microsoft DOS, Windows 3.1, The solution lies in perspective.

My hope was to establish a client server communication between two devices much like a student might connect to a on campus service with there cell phone. I have great optimism that Bluetooth may be the most affordable and most common communication transport for community college students. What I have created so far only runs on mobile devices with Microsoft Mobile 5.0
