We’d like to share what we presented because it encapsulates technologies that will impact/affect the future of mobile learning and learning in general, readers of this blog will probably find it of special interest. | IGNATIA WEBS APRIL 19, 2012 #ict4d challenges to deliver sustainable #mLearning in developing regions to really engage in meaningful education through mobile devices (if such is possible), all the while allowing both local (not localized) and really contextual pedagogies (based on pedagogies that are meaningful within the culture in which education will take place) to be developed, leading towards meaningful education through the use of mobile devices (or any ubiquitous technologies). | | | | | | | RAPID INTAKE MOBILE LEARNING MAY 13, 2010 Apple, Adobe, and the Flash eLearning Future Thursday, May 13, 2010 Apple, Adobe, and the Flash eLearning Future Ive had a few requests from customers and prospects to address some questions raised by the firestorm of corporate rhetoric between Adobe and Apple and the "future of Flash". Even if Flash doesnt "go away", its pretty clear that Apple wont be supporting Flash on its mobile devices. IS FLASH GOING TO DIE? | MOBILE LEARNING EDGE SEPTEMBER 17, 2011 5 Views of the Future of Mobile Learning It is notoriously hard to predict the future of anything, but predicting technology trends can be done if you look for products and services already in development. That means digging for innovations, inventions and ideas that have been already developed in the past 3-5 years, and assessing their potential growth. Some are clearly pushing the envelope more than others. | THE MOBILE LEARNER MAY 25, 2012 Mobile Devices: Breaking Through the Walled Garden I am a fan of the HowStuffWorks podcast “Stuff You Should Know” Recently, I listened to the episode titled, “What’s The Future of the Internet” and the discussion on net neutrality and the walled garden of devices got me thinking about how device and OS manufacturers are restricting our experience of the Internet and the implication this could have to learning in general and mobile learning in particular. There’s Apple and their iOS platform and there are the other devices that use Android. Let me provide a little context. | RAPID INTAKE MOBILE LEARNING NOVEMBER 9, 2011 Adobe Drops Flash for Mobile - What Does it Mean for mLearning and eLearning? This morning Adobe stated that it will no longer develop the Flash player for mobile devices in favor of throwing their support behind HTML5 development. This will likely be a blow to Android device manufacturers who have counted on the Flash player support as one of the main differentiations from Apple devices, but what does it mean for e-learning and m-learning developers? mobile html5 mobile learning mlearning collaborative e-learning development flashFor mobile learning it won't have much of an impact. ULEARNING BLOG | THURSDAY, MAY 10, 2012 Computers aren’t so special anymore, but the kids may be better off: An introduction to mobile ‘appliance computing’ in Queensland schools For example an informal survey of over 600 students conducted by the Principal at a lower-socio economic school north of Brisbane in 2008 showed that more students already owned a mobile device such as an MP3 player, Nintendo DS and digital cameras than used a PC regularly (and this wasn’t even counting mobile phones!). The second factor is the growth in availability of these devices in schools. Ahonen, 2010) to the point where by as long ago as 2004, 45% of 13-15 year olds owned one (Allison, 2004), it is inevitable that such devices are having an impact in Queensland. MORE >> -
