Critical pedagogy: people can learn, but that does not make them philanthropists
Social media helps us all to connect, we all learn at an increased pace, both in educational institutions, in our professional organizations/companies and just for ourselves. BlogPhilosophy: what if all the learning in the world, does not save it from itself?
that is what the internet is becoming Social media would make a difference! It would give people the power to gather knowledge, not only that but they would construct knowledge and it would be taken up. Social media picked up immensely this year, so the content put out there was immense as well. This will be more of a grim post. The biggest aha-moment on eLearning I got this year came when I talked to Nicola Avery last week.

Let others find your most read blogposts via PostRank
Although I agree that linking, filtering and constructing are just a couple of qualities that a contemporary learner (and I see all of the contemporary professionals as learners) should have to keep updated on the latest content and knowledge in a particular field, it is not easy to disseminate your own knowledge . Tags: social network social media twitter social interactio [Look at the right side bar to see the blogpost ranking in action] The last few months many people have been writing about the surplus of networks and finding the content you are looking for as quickly and simple as possible in a knowledge world.

#ela2009 workshop George Siemens: social networking technologies for teaching and learning transformation
The great thing about these slides is that it gives you a holistic approach of what learning embraces: experimenting, gossip, collaboration, debating, constructing ideas ... One of the workshops in eLearning Africa 2009 was lead by George Siemens , a Canadian from the Manitoba University who was one of the organisers of the CKK08 massive course in 2008 in which I participated my two cents . He is always a source of innovative ideas.

Using Animoto to create short videos for mobile
It supports direct retrieval from other social web tools such as Facebook, Picasa or Flickr, so if you’ve already uploaded your photos, there’s no need to find and upload them again.
Imagine a construction student tasked with creating an item for their e-portfolio, or to start off a class presentation. Animoto is an online site that will automatically analyse your images and music, and then composite them for you into a dynamic video with professional transitions and effects. The results are stunning - the site has been created by professional video producers, and

It is a misconception that an eLearner has no social contact with other e-course members. Well-constructed eLearning is about human interaction (discussions, group work...) Through the last decade some myths got their paws on eLearning. And although a lot of us try to get these myths banned, they keep popping-up whenever I have an introduction talk on eLearning.

Mobile Augmented Reality – A Brief Overview
Advanced research includes the use of motion-tracking data, fiducial markers recognition using machine vision, and the construction of controlled environments containing any number of sensors and actuators.]
A new “Mobile Augmented Reality Browser” called Layar captures the real world through the mobile device’s video capture capability and provides information about the objects through real-time searches and connections to social networks.
