As I myself am currently learning about and thinking about the concept of the Flipped Classroom, it would be prudent to look elsewhere for a more definitive definition of the Flipped Classroom. For the purposes of this blog post, a simple description will do so simply put, a flipped classroom is a classroom where the instructional time and student activity time are reversed. In the Flipped Classroom model, the sequence is flipped. | ULEARNING BLOG JANUARY 25, 2012 One Laptop per Child Australia ‘flips’ the ICT in education deployment model There has been a new buzz word added to the education lexicon of late (as if one were needed) – the flipped classroom. I think for many teachers one of the biggest concerns about including cell phones in classroom learning activities is that they will be used inappropriately. would like to brainstorm some "rules" for including cell phones inside of the school classroom. Teachers do not want to be responsible for harmful mobile behavior. Yet, by ignoring cell phone etiquette, we are not doing the students any favors. We could teach appropriate cell phone etiquette, while showing students how to use cell phones as learning tools. What are your top 5 rules? Or what would your top 5 rules be | THE MOBILE LEARNER DECEMBER 11, 2008 Reflections on the 2008 RCAC Symposium This afforded me the opportunity to focus on the messages provided by the presenters in why technology integration is crucial in today’s classroom. When we buy a new TV, we are shopping for the creative experiences presented by visual artists - kids are doing the same thing when they are shopping for video games. Video games are changing the nature of learning but this industry will also drive an increased need in story writers, artists, musicians, etc - we should not shortchange the arts in our funding and in our instructional focus.
