JULY 26, 2010 So what are these super popular tablet computers capable of anyway?
Of interest also is what HP releases in the way of a ‘PalmPad’ tablet that will run the WebOS they bought along with Palm. iBrainstorm allows other devices (iPhones or iPod touches as you’d expect from this platform) to connect via bluetooth and create their own sticky-notes which can be passed to the main iPad with a flick of the finger. was lucky enough to have Palm computers for my fifth grade students in 2001. As a teacher, I tried hard to use the handhelds in my classroom as creatively as possible. We had about 50 apps we used on the Palms. Even with thousands of Palm apps, it was sometimes hard to find or adapt apps to move beyond drill and practice. My favorite handheld today is the iPod touch. It’s amazing to compare the number of iPod touch and iPhone apps to the number of apps for the Palm Operating System. You can also save screenshots of what’s on your iPod’s screen.

the iPhone (and the iPod touch) has played a role in creating a new model for higher education at ACU. incoming freshmen were given a choice between an iPhone, an iPod touch, or neither. Unsurprisingly, every incoming student accepted one or the other, with about 36% choosing a iPod touch over an iPhone. One of the questions asked was about the distraction level the iPhones and iPod touches generated in the classroom. MORE >>
