THE MOBILE LEARNER | SUNDAY, MARCH 17, 2013 Mobile Devices and 21st Century Skills: Part 1 – Communication Back in 2007 when I began this blog, the main thrust was sharing ideas about why mobile devices can improve teaching and learning. Now in 2013, not only has the use of mobile devices become much more widespread both in schools and society at large, but the attitudes toward the use of mobile devices for learning has changed. Many in the education system are much more willing to accept mobile devices as learning tools. Asking students to create a blog or wiki that may or may not be written on their mobile devices is not enough. They need to augment their ideas. -

This report also had the interesting statistic that almost a third of mobile phone users seek out medical information on their phones. As mobile phones becomes people’s most personal device, people are using them to seek out the most personal information. -

Not all mobile devices are touch screen and defining it as such creates too narrow a definition of mobile learning. -
IGNATIA WEBS | THURSDAY, AUGUST 2, 2012 Does #mobile learning really make a difference in this world? It is not necessary to read if you have a phone, in that case speech can be enough to exchange knowledge/information. At the same time radio transmissions offer a great, non-reading, durable way of getting knowledge (continued medical education) distributed to large crowds in a less expensive way, and radio is a mobile device. participation between rural health care workers is now possible by using simple cell-phones). -

THE MOBILE LEARNER | SATURDAY, MAY 8, 2010 Thoughts on the Current State of Mobile Devices Only a few short years ago, when mobile devices were still mainly cell phones and music players, the thought of a mobile revolution supplanting the computer revolution seemed distant. It is well documented what the strengths and weakness are of each device so I will not discuss them here.
