Flash Lite on More Mobile Devices Means More Mobile Devices with Rich E-Learning Content
Microsoft is now licensing Flash Lite for Windows Mobile . Flash Lite is a subset of the desktop Flash environment and the version that will be on Windows Mobile will allow developers to utilize components like Flash Video and a significant portion of the ActionScript 3 programming language. What this means is that you can develop full scale mobile applications with the Flash Authoring Tool and deploy them to devices running Windows Mobile. This is a good thing if you’re hoping to develop or port e-Learning content to Windows Mobile Devices. Think

Adobe’s Mobile Packager: Flash on your mobile
Those of you who know me know that I’ve been excited about Flash for mobile devices for a long time. Ever since the first announcements of Flash Lite in 2005/2006, I’ve been studying and working on ways to port the most ubiquitous rich web technology to the mobile space. My expiriments with Mode2Tech lead to my first mobile application, called Burst , which is currently in version 2 and I think it has some valuable applications. But there have always been some real limitations to using Flash for mobiles. First, Flash is only available as a player on two

With Flash Lite, you can create a customized RSS reader that will work with many mobile devices. Important Note: As you may know, Flash Lite does not parse XML directly. The first thing we’ll need to do is parse the XML feed and change it as to be loaded by Flash Lite. Notice that One of the easiest ways to push content to your mobile users is through an RSS feed. Create a free SMS auto-reply learning tool
Some educators have used StudyTXT to provide brief revision “flash cards” or notes for their students on-demand; but I can also see the possibility for this kind of system to be used to play educational games or mobile quizzes.
It’s a small application that runs on an ordinary Windows Mobile smartphone and basically turns it into a message server, with the advantage of being, itself, mobile - you can just take your message server with you and modify it whenever (or wherever) you want to!
I’ve previously blogged about StudyTXT , a system deployed at a number of New Zealand educational institutions (to whom it is available for free), which allows students to send an SMS and receive on-demand learning and support information on their mobile phones.
