Flash Player On Devices – Going Mobile Just Got Easier
One of the best signs for those who make learning content is the Flash Player finally coming to mobile devices in large numbers. Some of you may be familiar with the trials Adobe has had in bringing the Flash player to the mobile area. It has actually been in use, in the form of Flash Lite for several years now. As one Google guy I spoke with recently said, “everyone is thinking about mobile.” 8221; And that is a really good thing for mobile learning.

The other great mobile education movement
Ok I know I said three – but this one is not one of mine – Flash support. don’t use flash hardly at all, but I know alot of educators that do rely on it for hundreds of interactive learning objects that are totally unavailable in the Apple mobile world. How long it takes for these to eventually be ported over to Java/HTML5 or turned into the mobile apps (via Adobe conversion software) that are becoming more of the standard for such software I don’t know, but until I am aware dear reader that much of my writings on how learning is handling the inevitable rise of ubiquitous computing centre’s around the iPhone/iPod touch/iPad platform.

Adobe’s Mobile Packager: Flash on your mobile
Those of you who know me know that I’ve been excited about Flash for mobile devices for a long time. Ever since the first announcements of Flash Lite in 2005/2006, I’ve been studying and working on ways to port the most ubiquitous rich web technology to the mobile space. But there have always been some real limitations to using Flash for mobiles. My expiriments with Mode2Tech lead to my first mobile application, called Burst , which is currently in version 2 and I think it has some valuable applications. First, Flash is only available as a player on two platforms,

Flash on my iPhone? It’s showdown time!
For several years Adobe has been promoting Flash as a great technology for mobile devices (and it is). For several years Apple have been making amazing mobile devices (and they are). … and, for some bizarre reason, the two have been bickering all along, and never quite making friends. The Mobile Learner
4 Comments » iPods in Education Part 11: Digital Flash Cards January 8, 2009 — Rob De Lorenzo This blog post is in response to all the digital flash card websites that I’ve been coming across lately that are offering teachers digital flash cards for iPod for a fee. There is an easy option for teachers and students to create their own digital flash cards that is totally free. Digital mindmapping tools: my choices for connected visual organisers/presenting
Still fully-featured (it was a paid version until recently), it really jumped ahead of the others I was considering due to the fact that it works on PCs and Macs, AND has a special version for running exclusively from USB flash drives. ve now gone on to use this with our Head of Curriculum and Admin team to demonstrate what’s possible - and they were impressed, not just with the flash-looking end product, but with how powerful it could be for giving presentations to staff.
I’ve had loads of fun lately I must admit just trying out mindmapping/ visual organiser software.

My mLearning Predictions for 2010
Mobile learning projects delivered in established and emerging global markets will outnumber those delivered in North America (USA/Canada) due to greater interest, faster uptake and willingness to leverage mlearning on both basic feature phones as well as advanced smartphones. In the smartphone realm, mobile web-delivered content will prove to be a less compelling mlearning experience as compared to mobile application-delivered content (at least through 2010). Security will become a MUCH bigger issue for mlearning deployments and all vendors will need to step up their game to ensure content/IP

CCK08 - will connectivism without guidance result in unuseful knowledge mutations?
Some useful links: What is Connectivism a short presentation by George Siemens (made in adobe presenter, so you will need the latest flash plugin and quite a strong computer processor - might be difficult for low resource areas). very short summary of the presentation: the human mind builds on: our need to externalize to make sense; our need for frameworks/structures for sensemaking; our need to socialize and negotiate around knowledge; our patterning mind; our desire to exceed our humanity through technology; Connectivism = knowledge is networked and distributed;

document sharing software
If you like loging in, you can also use Adobe's Share which publishes all the documents to a flash format that can be embedded in other web pages. There are a lot of softwares out there for document sharing. But graphically speaking Issuu says it all. The UI is beautifully done and it gives the user/reader the impression he can almost scroll through the
