IGNATIA WEBS | MONDAY, JANUARY 3, 2011 Call 4 #papers: #mobile #mLearning IADIS conference in Avila Spain Lifelong learning is: often self-directed, interest and needs driven; it occurs predominantly in informal and too-rich environments; and frequently implies a collaborative activity (Fischer & Sugimoto 2006) among learners transiting through learning events in life. Early research in the design of mobile technologies for lifelong learning (Sharples, 2000) pointed to highly portable, individual, unobtrusive, available anywhere, adaptable to the learner's development, persistent, useful for everyday needs, and intuitive personal tools. UPSIDE LEARNING | TUESDAY, MARCH 26, 2013 Designing eLearning for iPads – Webinar Recording and Q&A How much higher is the cost of developing training on tablets as compared to Windows PCs? A: Mobile learning or eLearning on iPads/tablets can be used for providing field based staff/agents with a mobile enabled environment where they can access the training activities in the form of videos, podcasts, eLearning courses, quizzes and evaluation surveys and also enables them to use their mobile device to share knowledge with others (within or outside their team) in real-time. Is it possible to send us a list of the developing tools? We hope you enjoyed it and found it useful. MORE >> -
IGNATIA WEBS | TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 27, 2012 Tin Can: learner #analytics for the next #research frontier The problems tackled with Tin Can as it is developed: Mobile tracking – any device tracking: so allowing focus on the actual learning, no matter what device. Simulations: allowing to move away from the browser, into where the actual learning takes place. Track real world activities: a webinar, training attendance… any tracking that is GPS enabled and such. Tin Can will not program spaced learning, but will provide data that will make it easier to develop spaced learning. THAT is what I am looking for. version, so near public release). Great! MORE >> -
MOBILE LEARNING | SUNDAY, JANUARY 31, 2010 Report: Sydney AUC iPhone SDK Workshop There has been considerable activity at the University of Canberra with the implementation of Apple-based systems for supporting teaching and learning. With that in mind, I applied for one of the Apple University Consortium (AUC) scholarships to attend last week’s iPhone Software Developer’s Kit (SDK) Workshops in Sydney, and was delighted to be accepted. The main trainer trainer was Nicholas Circosta, a 21-year-old Honours student from Murdoch University and a founding partner in start-up software development company Codelity. MORE >> -
