IGNATIA WEBS | WEDNESDAY, JUNE 2, 2010 Ethics, technology and learning did not find the energy to write about it until today and it is with a sad heart that I reflect on why I have felt a bit in despair. But the government changed, and because of this Becta will be shutting down in November 2010, in spite of many good learning outcomes and products. This last couple of days have drained my spirit, mainly because my ethics were challenged on different levels. Why do governments politicize education? After yet another fall of the government a different politician became minister of education, a different one though from the same political party. MORE >> -

IGNATIA WEBS | WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 15, 2010 John Traxler on academic and corporate mLearning in a Global context PDA pilot study: Green energy in th Lake District (Sellafield Nuclear Site): field study mobile course, capturing measurements with mobile data capturing (saves time and gains on accuracy). Today I am at the 13th edition of the Interactive Computer Aided Learning conference in Hasselt, Belgium. With some interesting speakers and presenters. John is looking really sharp with a nice suite in distinguished grey on top of a black shirt. mLearning has reached the unreached in only a couple of years (first projects started 9 years ago). MOBLEARN | THURSDAY, JUNE 2, 2011 Use Smartphones in class, say school principals For example, in schools that prohibit cell phones, 54% of students still report sending texts during the school day (Lenhart, 2010). Recognizing the educational value of encouraging such behaviors, many school leaders have shifted their energies from limiting the use of these technologies to limiting their abuse. The National Association of Secondary School Principals have been trying to make sense of the whirlwind that is Social and Mobile Technologies. MOBILE LEARNING | SUNDAY, JANUARY 31, 2010 Report: Sydney AUC iPhone SDK Workshop First class training begins with first class trainers, and Nick’s ascendancy into the realms of Apple itself provides some indication of his energy, enthusiasm and talent in iPhone development. There has been considerable activity at the University of Canberra with the implementation of Apple-based systems for supporting teaching and learning. Amongst the many ideas for content delivery we have been investigating iTunesU and the use of iPod Touch and iPhone devices for accessing content on-campus (or at home) for later review and reflection.
