Thanks to the great College20 community started by Eduardo Peirano, I could read a post by Alejandra Pickett that really blew my mind. The way she build her course is a great example of combining several relevant Social media to enhance a course. If you are a member of the College20 community, feel free to immediately surf to her post . (btw

Create a free SMS auto-reply learning tool
Date: January 7, 2008 (Updated)
Type: I’ve previously blogged about StudyTXT , a system deployed at a number of New Zealand educational institutions (to whom it is available for free), which allows students to send an SMS and receive on-demand learning and support information on their mobile phones.
It’s a terrific innovation which has plenty of potential in academic settings.

Persuasive Video on Cell Phones and Schools
I created this video for my presentation at the MACUL conference tomorrow in Grand Rapids, MI. I would love some feedback on it. The goal is to give a perspective of educational history and technology, where common technology tools (such as a chalkboard or pen or even Internet) were once banned and labeled "harmful" as we are doing with cell phones. Enjoy!

Create free quizzes for cellphones/ Facebook/ Moodle
Here’s today’s awesome m-learning find: a website where anyone can create a multiple choice quiz which is compatible with the vast majority of current mobile phones (it runs as a Java application, which most of today’s cellphones support).
The site is called Mobile Study , and the finished multiple choice quizzes can be downloaded to a mobile phone from a computer, by visiting a URL with a mobile phone browser, via an SMS message (a small allocation of free messages is provided for each account), or even by using a QR Code (which you should be able to do if you’ve been

Big Question: What did I learn about learning in 2008?
The Learning Circuits blog from Tony Karrer has posted a new question of the month: 'what did you learn about learning in 2008'. The biggest aha-moment seemed to have come from an informal learning moment with Nicola Avery at OEB over dinner and one with Luk De Clerck on the plain back home. Maybe the biggest aha-moments are always the one's you have had last.

What is your classroom "rules" list for integrating cell phones in the classroom?
I think for many teachers one of the biggest concerns about including cell phones in classroom learning activities is that they will be used inappropriately. Teachers do not want to be responsible for harmful mobile behavior. Yet, by ignoring cell phone etiquette, we are not doing the students any favors.
