It is a wonderful list created by inputs from all of us, so add your tools to it. It gives you a moment to reflect on which tools you use most, or with the utmost enthusiasm. Why is this great? | MLEARNING WORLD JUNE 4, 2007 eLearning DevCon 07- mLearning Session Updates Start a mLearning Program Today - Rapid and Cheap Create Rapid and Cheap Mobile Learning with tools such as text messaging, podcasting and rss feeds. This program will describe how to quickly create and deploy an mLearning strategy with tools your organization may already have. I've received a lot of emails asking for information on the two sessions I was scheduled to present at eLearning DevCon 07. Unfortunately, some situations have changed and I won't be attending DevCon. will, however, post the information from these presentations here at mLearning-World.com. learing+2.0 | | | | | | | CELL PHONES IN LEARNING NOVEMBER 28, 2007 Scavenger Hunt with Cell Phones! In addition, I think that using cell phones would help "connect" students with their everyday lives outside of school and the tool they are using for class activities. So I have been thinking about Classroom Performance Systems (often called the "blue clickers" by my student teachers), and wondering if a cell phone can do a similar function. This is how it works. eyespot gabcast Flickr | IGNATIA WEBS NOVEMBER 15, 2007 Mobile guidelines for better content Mobile Tools The tools I jotted down were SoonR , WURFL and Volantis. The latest trends in mobile technology and content were given in speed tempo at the conference future-of-mobile.com. There were a bunch of speakers (17!) who each got between 15 – 30 minutes and the format worked. In just one days time I got updated on some of the trends in mobile design and development. Open standards Because I am a fan of open standards, I really liked Andrea Trasatti of dotMobi. He mentioned Opera mini which brings the Web to low cost cell phones. Contest with lots of money! | CELL PHONES IN LEARNING DECEMBER 9, 2007 Wiffiti--Brainstorming from Cell Phones I have a new favorite brainstorming tool. The best part of this tool is that students can brainstorm from their cell phones to a live screen on the web. love this tool. Although I imagine that there are a lot of applications for this tool in the classroom, one of the best is brainstorming. Wiffiti ! Since students already text message almost continuously throughout any day, now they can use it for an educational purpose! You can also keep the screen private or share it with the world! Another nice application of Wiffiti in schools is for "story telling." wiffiti | CELL PHONES IN LEARNING DECEMBER 9, 2007 Wiffiti--Brainstorming from Cell Phones I have a new favorite brainstorming tool. MOBLEARN | MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 3, 2007 5 year olds need mobile, playful ICT instead of laptops! Teaching ICT to primary aged children using tools designed for office-based adults isn't the best approach. MOBILE LEARNING | TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 10, 2009 The Genie in the Bottle: Unleashing the hidden power of personal mobile devices for learning (November 2009) ABSTRACT: Since July 2007 there have been more mobile phones in operation in Australia than there are people ; and when you add in the other mobile, digital devices that ordinary Australians own – such as media players, digital cameras, and portable computing devices – it is apparent that there are tremendous tools for personal and lifelong learning in the pockets of our students. In the second scenario, an educator may draw on the mobile tools that students already own. Leonard Low. University of Canberra, November 2009. Author’s Notes. MORE >>
